Welcome to all!

Hi Welcome All,

To this fantastic way of staying in touch and making our efforts meaningful.

With the emerging trend of e groups, it becomes difficult to keep track and respond to all. One more way of doing it is through creating an e blogger. A blog is your easy to use web site, where you can quickly post thoughts, interact with people, and more. The issue is what do we want to have an e group – which sends the mail compulsorily or a blog whoever is interested logs on and exchanges views. And the information that we want attention of every one can be sent as a formal mail.

Name of the group/blog: GWA South Asia

Activity focus of this group: Information exchange on gender mainstreaming in IWRM in South Asia

Main Purpose of this initiative:

How can we enhance current knowledge about what constitutes effective practice in gender mainstreaming in IWRM?
How can we support practitioners with their use and understanding of gender training?
How can we promote the development of terminology and frameworks that will improve understanding and sharing of practice in gender?
What are the current approaches in the sector and the trend towards mainstreaming gender in IWRM projects?

And thus,
· Work closely with partner agencies and concurrent projects
· Consult with existing networks, members, associates and other user groups
· review existing resources, work in progress, identify key lessons and significant gaps
· commission a limited number of desk studies
· support an ongoing process of collation, synthesis, review and planning

Waiting to see lot of activity on this blog,

Regards

Shalabh
